Kalgoorlie to Coolgardie

The old Coolgardie Railway Station

The Coolgardie Gold Fields were discovered well before Kalgoolie but the gold ran out sooner. The whole town is heratige listed and basically one big museum. Take a road in any direction out of town and you will come across old diggings and an insight into what the old timers had to endure while trying to strike it rich. it is truely a fascinating place.

Coolgardie back to Perth

Heading west again towards Perth stop off and have a look around Southern Cross another old mining town. Even go out of your way a little (lot) and visit Koolyanobbing a ming town to but not gold iron ore this time. As you travell west take the time to check the Wheat Belt towns of Merredin and Kellerberrin (I lived there for 12 Months with my own electrical business until the town died) Stop at the historic town of Northam and as you come towards Perth detour to York. Visit the antique car museum and then on through Midland Junction to Perth and you have just completed what I call my South-west tour. All the places that you see in those pages I have been to possibly lived in or spent quality time at I hope you enjoyed the pictorial tour as much as I did putting it together as I have not seen these places for 15 to 20 years.
